Formatting
XLSior helps you to use standard formats for different types of cells. The formatting commands are on the XLSior > Format menu.
The formatting that is applied is generally consistent with the conventions used by XLSior.
Format range as Input range
The current range will be given a light green background. This should be used for cells in which the user is expected to enter input values.
Format range as Heading range
The current range will be given a dark blue background with white text. The text will be right-aligned and wrapped. This should be used for cells that act as column or row headings, or as section headings. The alignment options may need to be edited after the format has been applied, depending on the context.
Format range as Check range
The current range will be given a light purple backgound. This should be used for cells that contain automatic checks.
Format range as Warning range
The current range will be given a light purple background. Conditional formats will be applied so that the cells appear with a light yellow background and red border if their value is FALSE. This should be used for cells that indicate whether automatic checks produce valid results. The conditional formatting options may need to be edited after the format has been applied, depending on the context.
Format range as Manual range
The current range will be given a light grey background. This should be used for cells whose values are updated through the use of manually initiated procedures, such as goal seek, solver, or scenarios.
Format range as Comments Box
The current range will be given a light yellow background with a black border. This command is the same as the XLSior > Document > Format range as Comments Box command.
Set timestamp Range
The top left cell of the current range will be given a light grey background and, and a worksheet Name X_Timestamp will be defined to refer to it. If there is already a cell with that name on the worksheet, you will be asked if you want to replace it. The current time will be placed in the cell. You may need to make the column wider so the date is visible. This command is the same as the XLSior > Document > Set timestamp Range command. Timestamps can be updated using the XLSior > Document > Update timestamp on This sheet or XLSior > Document > Update All timestamps commands.
